Some of you may remember the recent post on our website of another photo of a masonic gravestone, this time from the church yard of St Mary’s on Holy Island for Captain Henry Thomas McDonald. You can see the original news here.
We are delighted to report that we have been contacted by Mrs. Elizabeth Burnage of Bardon Mill, Northumberland, his great great granddaughter. Captain McDonald’s son Henry Thomas born Holy Island about 1819 was her great grandfather and this was followed by her grandmother Catherine Jane. Elizabeth has provided a short biography which you can read here.
