A Wander up Kilimanjaro
Proud to support our Senior Warden and Charity Steward Bro Chris Tait going the extra mile (literally) to raise money for Josie’s Dragonfly Trust by going for a wander up Mount Kilimanjaro.
Bro Chris decided to raise funds for Josie’s Dragonfly Trust as he was deeply moved by the amazing work they do in supporting young people with cancer who have little time. The charity provides cash and organises Dragonfly Dreams for children and young people up to the age of 24 years old throughout the UK.
Being fit (he’ll find out just how fit!) he decided it was time to get out and do something to raise some much needed funds for Josie’s Dragonfly Trust and to raise awareness.
So, in a moment of abnormal and excessive electrical activity in his brain, he decided a wander up Kilimanjaro was the way to go. The wander will take place 20 – 30 September 2018. Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world, rising 5,895m from the East African plains. The challenge starts through the rain forests, over the moorland and alpine desert, to the snow which caps this mountain. Admittedly, expert guides will be available to help and rescue the less fortunate climbers. We hope Bro Chris makes it to the top and back without incident.
