The Provincial annual meeting was held in Newcastle Racecourse, High Gosforth Park, Newcastle upon Tyne on Thursday 28th November 2013 and was attended by several Brethren from Lodge Temperance 2557.
The full details of the meeting will no doubt be made available on the Province’s website very soon but items of particular interest to the brethren of Lodge Temperance 2557 are as follows:
- The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master R W Bro. Peter Magnay DL announced in open Provincial Grand Lodge that he will retire in May 2014 as our PGM and thanked everyone for giving him the privilege as the PGM of Northumberland for the past six years.
- The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master presented a cheque for £350,000 to the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI).
- Provincial membership dues will increase by £1 on the 1st January 2014
- Provincial Grand Lodge offices in Neville Hall have been sold to the North East Institue of Mining and will move to the recently purchased 17, Landsdown Terrace, Gosforth early in the new year when refurbishment is completed.
