Under the Bridge is a registered charity, No 1142592, which provides services to over 100 homeless and vulnerable people in the North East with the main focus being the Newcastle Upon Tyne Area.
As the weather is deteriorating by the day the charity struggles to cope with the demand on its services and in particular the people who are sleeping rough.
The charity not only receives cash donations but also clothes, shoes, soaps, shaving foam, basically what we take for granted in everyday life.
As we approach the festive season in Newcastle Upon Tyne Bro Steve asks that we support this charity by donating whatever you can in the form of clothing, toiletries or anything you think will help the homeless.
WBro Steve feels that this should not be from one particular lodge but rather a collective effort from the Masonic buildings in Fern Avenue, Corbridge Road and Maple Terrace where he will deposit boxes for contributions, there will also be envelopes if people wish to make cash donations. Wbo Steve will do the administration tasks of delivering and collecting boxes which he will co-ordinate with a point of contact from each venue. If approved the boxes will be delivered to the charity main office in the third week of December
WBro Steve has spoken to the manager at the registered office in Byker who advises that anything donated will be greatly appreciated by the staff and clients.
