It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of our honorary brother, Wbro Alan Holden PPJGW who died peacefully at home, at 79 years of age, on 10th September 2013 after an illness bravely borne. Members of Lodge Temperance were represented at his funeral on the 17th September.

Throughout his Masonic career Alan was a guiding light to many new masons giving them the benefit of his extensive Masonic experiences and knowledge. He could always be relied upon to help with the ritual with little or no notice, although more recently, due to failing health, he was unable to attend the lodge on a regular basis.

He was an active member of the Lodge holding the position of Tyler in 1991 and then again in 1994. He was a past master of our Lodge Temperance 2557 having occupied the chair of King Solomon in 2002 and 2003.

He will be sorely missed by us all and our heartfelt sympathies are extended to his wife Jean and his family.

One Response to Departed Merit – Wbro. Alan Holden PPJGW

  1. Wayne Barclay says:

Alan was a giant of a man, but very gentle with it. His knowledge of the ritual was second to none. I was proud to know Alan and be in the same lodge as him. Alan was always willing to take any job on the floor and was always passing on his knowledge to up and coming brethren of the lodge, He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
